Veritas Academy (www.VeritasAcademy.net), a high performing, classical, Christian, college prep school in southwest Austin, will be resuming the search for a full-time Athletic Director. Established in 2005, Veritas currently has over 520 students enrolled in grades PK-12. At the varsity level, Veritas competes in TAPPS (Texas Association of Private & Parochial Schools) 2A and offers the following sports: football (six-man), volleyball, cross country, basketball, wrestling, swimming, soccer (women), tennis, golf, and track.  Most of those sports are also offered at the middle school level where Veritas competes within AIPL (Austin Inter-Parochial League). (Baseball was also introduced in the middle school this year and is expected to be offered at the JV level in high school next year.) The AD is responsible for all athletic programs within the school, with additional support provided where necessary.

The qualified candidate should posses at least 5 years experience as a coach and/or Athletic Director and be administratively gifted with strong organizational, planning, communication and leadership skills.  Experience working with TAPPS (or a similar association), school budgeting and purchasing (especially within an athletics program), hiring coaches, scheduling practices/games/officials/facilities, and building and maintaining athleticprograms of excellence is strongly desired, as are basic tech skills acquired from experience working with business productivity applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.  Above all, however, this candidate must possess a love for the Lord and for children, along with a joyful servant’s heart and an ability to work well within a cohesive team.  In short, we are looking for a skilled administrator who has a passion for—and experience with—coaching student-athletes and coaches as Veritas Academy continues to scale up its athletic program, which will also include the development of athletic facilities on its newly acquired 97 acres in far southwest Austin.
